Yard Waste

Yard waste will be picked up on your regular service day from April 1 through November 30. Grass clippings, leaves, twigs, garden debris, weeds, fruits, seeds, stalks, vines are acceptable landscape items. Landscape does not include wood timbers, plastic edging, wood chips, bark, plant pots or trays, fertilizer or landscape material bags, landscape fabric, root sections, sand, gravel, sod, firewood, rocks, excess amounts of dirt or animal waste.

Bulky/Oversized Items

Residents are allowed one bulk item a week at no charge. The bulk item cannot weigh more than 50 pounds or require more that one person to lift it.

Items not covered under regular refuse collection and some bulk item service require special pick-up. Residents with items such as white goods, auto parts, building materials, heavy appliances, and other similar items must contact Groot for pricing and collection arrangements.

Fall leaf collection is provided at no cost to the residents from October 30 through November 30.

Electronic Waste Collection - "e-waste"

Under the Illinois Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act, mixing electronics with regular landfill waste is prohibited. All collected items are securely recycled and made inoperable. For sensitive electronics like hard drives, we offer convenient front, side, or drive-up pickups. You can also drop off items at local collection sites, many free of charge.
