Round Lake Beach
Discover comprehensive waste and recycling services in Round Lake Beach through Groot Industries. Weekly curbside collection includes flexible refuse cart options (95, 65, or 35 gallons) and a 65-gallon recycling cart at no extra charge. Residents will be required to have their containers at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on their designated collection day. Residents will have the option to receive one (1) 95, 65, or 35 gallon refuse cart. Groot has obtained information on the current size carts being utilized by each home and will mirror them upon delivery. Refuse outside the cart will be collected as long as it is properly prepared (35 gallon container, smaller rigid container or plastic bag not to exceed 50lbs) and a prepaid refuse sticker is affixed to each container. Additional refuse carts will be available for an annual fee.
All residents will receive one (1) 65 gallon recycling cart at no charge. Any recyclable items outside of the recycle cart will be collected as long as it is properly prepared (35 gallon container, smaller rigid container not to exceed 50 lbs).
Unlimited recyclable materials are collected on your current day of service. Recyclable materials in the cart do not need to be separated from each other. Please place only approved recycling items in the recycling cart. The collector is trained to check the contents of the cart. If there are foreign materials present, the cart will be left with a violation notice.
Additional recycling carts (65 gallon and 95 gallon) are both available for an annual fee.

Landscape waste collection will take place April 1st through November 30th of each year. Landscape waste collection will take place the same day as refuse and recycling collection. Residents will have the following options for landscape waste:
Pay Per Bag/Sticker Program
Under this option an unlimited amount of properly prepared yard waste “Kraft” type bags or resident owned 32 gallon rigid containers will be collected curbside each week as long as a prepaid landscape waste sticker is affixed to each container.
The program includes collection of one bulk item per week (not appliances or oversized/overweight items) at no additional cost.
Bulk items include: boxes, crates, furniture, and similar items that do not fit into a proper container and can be collected/lifted by one driver without assistance. Exceptions include items which are banned from direct disposal into a landfill. (appliances, tires, car batteries, TV’s, electronic waste). Oversized and overweight items are any single large or extra heavy item that requires Groot to schedule a special pick-up. An example of an oversized item is a piano, hot tub, or any item that requires two or more people to lift. There will be an additional fee per item.
Carpet must be cut up in four foot lengths not exceeding 25 pounds per roll. One cubic yard (3x3x3) will be collected at no charge. Any additional will be an additional charge.
Groot will collect refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washers, dryers, dishwashers, hot water tanks, dehumidifiers, and other white goods at a per item fee. Residents must call Groot at 847-693-2700 to schedule collection of white goods. Items should not be placed at the curb until the evening before the scheduled collection.
All material must be cut to no more than 4 feet in length and no larger than 2 feet in diameter. For the safety of the collector, all debris must be bagged or bundled and free of nails and sharp objects not exceeding 25 pounds. Please contact Groot at 847-693-2700 for pricing.

If the holiday falls on a weekday, on or before your scheduled collection, service will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the holiday week. If the holiday falls on Sunday, it will be observed on Monday and service will be delayed one day the entire week.
- Vacation Holds
- You may place your account on hold for up to 4 months per calendar year. "Low Volume" program cannot place vacation holds.
