Groot Industries provides comprehensive waste and recycling services for Deer Park. Residents receive 95-gallon trash and 65-gallon recycling carts, with yard waste collection available by subscription.
Additional services include bulk item pickup, construction debris removal, electronic waste collection, and discounts for seniors.

Services Provided
- A 95 gallon toter is provided for trash and a 65 gallon toter is provided for recycling. Additional containers will be available for an additional fee.
- Yard waste is collected during the months of April 1st through November 30th.
- Construction and general clean up debris are collected on normal service day for additional fees.
Recycling: Unlimited recycling service is provided with a 65 gallon toter designated for recycling material only. You may use a personal container not exceeding 32 gallons but it must be clearly marked "Recycling only". All recyclables may be mixed together in one container, no sorting is needed. Do Not put your recyclables in plastic bags. Click here for a list of Recyclable Materials.
Container Rental: Groot Industries has 95 gallon capacity trash containers and 65 gallon recycling containers available to rent. Containers are easily wheeled around and have lids. We also have 18 gallon recycling bins available for purchase. Contact us for more details.
Senior Discount: We offer seniors over the age of 65 a 10% discount on their bill. Proof of age must be sent to Groot Industries to the attention of the Billing Department.
Vacation Policy: Residents are required to contact us prior to stopping service for extended vacations. Residents may receive up to two (2) separate vacation billing waivers, each for up to two (2) months, for a total of four (4) months per year. The balance on your account must be paid in full prior to a vacation status being applied.

Bulk / Oversized / Special Item Collection
Bulk Items: One Bulk item per week is allowed such as Furniture (couch, dresser, chair) Mattress and box spring, lawn mower, bicycle, grill etc.
Oversized/Overweight Items: Some items are just too big or heavy for our drivers to handle without special equipment, in that case your driver may leave it so special arrangements can be made. In this event special charges will apply. Please contact us to check first if you think what you have placed out falls in this category.
Appliances: State laws require us to collect any "white good" type of appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, washers etc. separately and recycle them. There is a fee per item for collection and you are required to call the office at 847-734-6400 to schedule and make arrangements for payment.
Special pick-ups and extra garbage: If you find you need extra rubbish picked up all at one time there will be an extra charge and you must contact us to arrange scheduling and payment and get a confirmed collection date. If you choose to have your clean-up done on a day other than your normal service day an extra trip fee will be charged.
Construction Demolition Debris: Up to 1 cubic yard (3' x 3' x 3') of miscellaneous debris or construction material will be collected each week at no additional charge. Construction type debris should be stacked or bundled in lengths no longer than 4 feet and no larger than 2 feet in diameter. Carpeting should be in rolls no longer than 4 feet long and two feet in diameter and taped. In general try and keep any loose material bundled and neat so we can pick up. Stone, concrete, and dirt can only be picked up in containers and cannot weigh more than 45lbs. per container. If more than 1 cubic yard please call Groot to arrange pickup. Additional charges apply.

Yard Waste Collection
Yard waste collection runs April 1st through November 30th each year. Glenview residents have the follow options for yard waste collection:
Pay by the bag sticker program: An unlimited amount of properly prepared yard waste bags or resident owned 33 gallon rigid containers (not exceeding 50 pounds in weight) will be collected curbside each week as long as a prepaid landscape waste sticker is affixed to each container.
Grass clippings, leaves, twigs, garden debris, weeds, fruits, seeds, stalks, vines, bark and wood chips may be placed at the curb on the regularly scheduled pick up day in biodegradable paper “kraft” bags or containers not to exceed 33 gallons in size or 50 pounds. Bags are preferred to be rolled and crimped closed and be easily lifted to waist height and must not exceed 50lbs.
Landscape waste stickers are available at Village Hall.
Subscription Program: For an annual fee, households subscribing to the subscription program will receive unlimited collection of properly prepared yard waste bags. Residents may also choose to receive a 95 gallon yard waste cart designated for yard waste material.
Electronic Waste Collection - "e-waste"
The Illinois Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act prohibits any person from allowing or to cause mixing of any of the items listed with municipal waste that is intended for disposal at a landfill.
Groot Industries offers collection of these items directly from your home for an additional fee; however, you must call us at 847-734-6400 in advance to schedule a pick-up and make arrangements.
All items collected will be recycled and rendered inoperable. Due to the sensitive nature of some electronic items (computer hard drives or storage devices), we prefer to pick up items from the front, side, or top of drive locations.
Customers also have the option to bring their items directly to drop-off sites throughout the area, most of which are for no charge. Please visit the where and how page of our site and click on your county and then your town to search for area drop–off locations.
