Description of Service
Days Serviced: Wednesday
Refuse, Recycling & Yard Waste
Unlimited Standard Service:
All residents are supplied with a 95-gallon refuse cart and a
65-gallon recycle cart. Service includes collection of one (1) bulk item per week at no additional cost. Residents
are permitted to set out unlimited household waste for collection. Additional refuse beyond the cart must be placed
in bags or personal containers not exceeding 35 gallons in capacity or 45 pounds in weight. For automated
collections, the cart must be placed 2-4 feet apart with handles facing your house on collection day. We try to be
regular with out collection times but we may arrive earlier or later on your collection day. Please have your
material out by 6:00 AM to be assured pick up.
Electronic Waste Collection - "e-waste":
The Illinois Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act prohibits any person from allowing or to cause mixing of any of the items listed with municipal waste that is intended for disposal at a landfill.
Groot Industries offers collection of these items directly from your home for an additional fee; however, you must call in advance to schedule a pick-up and make arrangements.
All items collected will be recycled and rendered inoperable. Due to the sensitive nature of some electronic items (computer hard drives or storage devices), we prefer to pick up items from the front, side, or top of drive locations.
Customers also have the option to bring their items directly to drop-off sites throughout the area, most of which are for no charge. Please visit the where and how page of our site and click on your county and then your town to search for area drop–off locations.

Recycling:
Unlimited recyclable materials are collected on your current day of service.
Recyclable materials in the cart do not need to be separated from each other. Please place only approved recycling
items in the 65-gallon recycle cart. The collector is trained to check the contents of the cart. If there are
foreign materials present, the cart will be left with a violation notice. While the recycling carts must be used,
you may keep the 18 gallon recycle bin for personal use or have it recycled with a note to the driver requesting
removal.

Carpet must be cut up in four foot lengths not exceeding 45 pounds per roll. One cubic yard will be taken at no charge per collection week.
-Residents must call in advance to schedule the pickup of white goods and construction debris.-
