Transfer Station

As existing final disposal sites fill up and new sites are opened farther from population centers, the Waste Transfer Station has become the accepted method of dumping waste material locally. It is then transferred to its final location on a daily basis.

Groot Industries owns and operates three facilities in the Chicago area and manages a fourth site for the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC).

They all accept normal solid waste and landscape waste. None of them accept hazardous, radioactive or liquid waste. If you have material that may be in question, please call first. We reserve the right to turn away any material we deem unacceptable.
