The Village of Palatine & Groot Are Pleased To Announce Delivery of Recycling Carts Beginning April 2006.

Palatine residents residing in single family and town home dwellings will be receiving a wheeled cart that is designated for Recycling Only.
Recycling Collection Guidelines
No sorting or bagging of recyclables is required, as all items may be placed in the cart together. Plastics, glass, aluminum, and metal may be mixed with paper, newspaper, chipboard, and flattened cardboard. Recycling will continue to be collected with a separate truck.
Q: What do I do with my red recycling bin?
A: Residents may keep their bins but may no longer place bins at the curbside for collection. Empty bins set out with the recycling carts will be taken and recycled by Groot.

CARTS WITH REFUSE IN THEM WILL NOT BE SERVICED. Carts are the property of Groot Industries and must remain with the residence.

 Description of Service:
Please note, the current solid waste collection program will not be changing. The residents of Palatine may continue to place an unlimited amount of refuse, recycling and yard waste out for weekly collection. All solid waste should be placed at the curb by 6:00 AM on your collection day.

Refuse: Refuse may be placed in 34 gallon bags that do not exceed 60 pounds per bag.

Bulk Items: Residents may place one bulk item per week at the curb for pick up.

Appliances: Appliances will be picked up on Wednesday with a 24 hour advance notice. Residents may email us by using our "Contact Us" page or by calling our Customer Service Department directly.

Senior Discount: The Senior Discount is available for residents ages 65 or older. Residents must apply at the Village Hall.

Vacation Status: The vacation status is available for periods of 4 weeks or longer. Please email us through our "Contact Us" page or call our Customer Service Department.

• If the holiday falls on a Saturday, pick up will stay the same
• If the holiday falls on a Sunday, Monday will be an off day!
• If the holiday falls on a weekday, service will be delayed until the next day.
