Refuse Program: Residents of Deer Park may place an unlimited amount of refuse out for weekly collection. Residents may use their own refuse containers as long as they do not exceed 34 gallons or weigh more than 50 pounds. A 90 gallon refuse cart is available to all Deer Park residents by contacting Groot's Customer Service Department.  Additional 90 gallon refuse carts may be obtained for an additional monthly fee.

Recycling Program: Residents are issued a 65 gallon cart designated for "Recycling Only." An unlimited amount of recyclable materials may be set out for weekly collection along with the refuse and yard waste materials.

Bulk Items: An unlimited amount of bulk items may be set out for weekly collection. Bulk items include mattresses, box springs, sofas, and any other discarded furniture capable of being loaded safely by one person without assistance.

Special Pick Up's: (white goods) cost estimate from Groot, then pick up within one week. Residents may use their own containers if they do not exceed 34 gallons. White good items include refrigerators, washers, dryers, dehumidifiers, water softeners, water heaters, microwave ovens, and dishwashers.

Yard Waste:  The yard waste season runs from April 1st through November 30th every year. Residents may place their yard waste in biodegradable "Kraft" bags that do not exceed 33 gallons. Yard waste which is too bulky to be placed in a bag, such as branches or brush must be securely tied and bundled. Branches may not exceed 3" in diameter.

**Each yard waste bag or bundle requires one (1) "Yard Waste Sticker" to be affixed to it when placed out for weekly collection. Collection is the same day as the refuse and recycling collection. Groot is also offering a yearly subscription service whereby a cart will be provided for an annual fee. Branches Bundles: 4 inches in diameter, tied securely, bundles not to exceed 4 feet, 60 pounds.

Christmas Trees: One week in January. The week is decided by Village and Groot Industries.

Recyclable Materials

• If the holiday falls on a Saturday, pick up will stay the same.
• If the holiday falls on a Sunday, Monday will be an off day.
• If the holiday falls on a weekday, service will be delayed until the next day.
