95 Gallon Refuse Cart Program
This program allows for refuse to be placed in a 95 gallon refuse cart. All additional refuse that is placed outside of the cart must be placed in a pre-paid Cary refuse bag. The 95 gallon cart option is best suited for a majority of households in Cary that easily generate two or more bags of refuse per week. Residents who wish to participate in this program should call Groot.
35 Gallon Refuse Cart Program
This program allows for refuse to be placed in a 35 gallon refuse cart. Additional refuse that is placed outside of the cart must be placed in a pre-paid Cary refuse bag. Residents who wish to participate in this program can call Groot. If you average one bag of refuse per week, the 35 gallon cart option is the preferred method over paying $3.85 per Cary bag.
Cary Refuse Bag Program
The Cary refuse bag program allows for refuse to be placed in the designated Cary refuse bags. Refuse that is placed in cans or other containers will not be collected. Please note: If you place on average one (1) refuse bag out per week, the 35 gallon cart option is the better option overall.
Q: Can I place my refuse in my own refuse containers?
A: No. Refuse that is placed inside of refuse containers other than the 35 or 95 gallon Groot carts or designated Cary refuse bags will Not be collected.
Q: Is the yard waste program changing?
A: No, the yard waste program is still optional, with stickers being purchased for each biodegradable "Kraft" bag or can (maximum weight of 50 pounds). Yard waste will not be collected if it is in a plastic bag.
Collection Days
The existing collection routes will remain unchanged.
