EVANSTON COMMERCIAL FRANCHISE PROGRAM

Please review the following information and feel free to click on our Frequently Asked Questions to answer questions concerning the franchise program. The benefits of this new commercial waste franchise include established pricing with predictable annual escalators, free basic recycling services, and service performance guarantees. In addition to these direct benefits, the City will realize the environmental benefits of fewer solid waste trucks on the streets, using less fuel, energy, emitting less greenhouse gases and benefiting businesses and residents alike.

In order to sign up online, select SIGNUP HERE and fill in the required fields. We are required to see your June and July invoices to compare to the City's pricing. To send the copies of the invoices, you may either fax them to (773) 601-8639 or scan them and email them to evanston@groot.com as an attachment.

REFUSE PROGRAM

A smooth transition is the primary goal over the next few months and Groot will match your current level of refuse service. Please note: Groot will contact your business directly to inform you when your service will begin but it is imperative that you provide us with your information promptly.
Complete contact and billing information.
Size of refuse and recycling container(s).
Number and day(s) of pickups per week.
Copy of invoices from the past two months.
Detailed information on compactor/container ownership, if applicable.
Customers will see no initial changes in service. Any customers paying more per month than the City's scheduled rates will see a reduction effective December 1, 2008.

ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER SERVICES

The franchise program requires all permanent and temporary roll-off dumpsters to be provided through Groot. Whether you are a resident remodeling or a general contractor at a construction site, Groot Industries must be contracted for waste removal. Groot provides all the standard "open-top" dumpsters and all sizes of compactor roll-off services. Please call Groot's roll-off department at (800) 244-1977 or directly to our dispatch at (800) 461-1530.

RECYCLING PROGRAM

As part of the franchise program in Evanston, Groot is offering customers a free level of recycling service. Customers must sign-up to receive these services.

Each customer will be offered a 95 gallon cart to be serviced once per week at no charge.

If you need additional or custom recycling services, a fee will be required and you must contact one of our representatives at the following phone number (800) 244-1977.
